Mauritania confirms four more coronavirus cases


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) RABAT, May 15 (KUNA) -- The Mauritanian health ministry said Thursday that four more persons tested postive for the novel coronavirus (Covid-19), bringing the country's overall to 20.
Two of the cases were identified as community transmission, the third involved an aged woman and the fourth involves a person who was previously quarantined, according to the Mauritanian News Agency (AMI).
Meanwhile, Minister of Health Mohammad Nedhirou Hamed decided to isolate himself after an official of his ministry tested positive for the virus.
The infected official took part in an event attended by the minister, AMI reported, citing a statement by the ministry.
The ministry previously noted that seven patients had recovered and two others died of the pandemic. (end)
