(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, May 12 (Petra) - The Prime Ministry on Tuesday circulated the Return to Work Guide in government departments for all public sector institutions, in order to prepare employees to take preventive and public health measures, and to sustain service delivery to citizens in-house or from remote locations.
On Sunday, the cabinet approved the guidelines for returning to work for public sector institutions, while the Minister of State for Media Affairs and the government's spokesperson, Amjad Adaileh, announced yesterday the government's decision to return to work in the public sector as of Tuesday May 26.
The guide, directed to public sector departments, employees and recipients of services, was prepared by the Civil Service Bureau (CSB) in cooperation with the Prime Ministry's Institutional Performance and Policy Development Directorate, the Public Administration Institute and experts and specialists from the European Union-funded Support for Improvement in Governance and Management program (SIGMA).
Jordan is the first country, within the SIGMA program, to develop a guide for the return to work of public sector after a two and a half months of stoppage and official holidays for public sector institutions that were not authorized to operate, which stopped the provision of several services.
The guide aims to enable ministries, government departments and institutions to identify priority services and provide them efficiently and effectively, through proper planning for a smooth and orderly return that takes into account public safety requirements, maintaining employee and citizens health, and a gradual return of services to ensure the continuity of the government's work.
The return of the employees to work in-house will be in three batches, according to the portions determined by the concerned minister and the decisions issued in this regard in light of the epidemiological situation's developments.
The Public Administration Institute will hold training workshops via remote training to explain the guide and clarify the tools and models contained therein, between May 14-20, targeting heads of the Institutional Performance Development Units, Administrative Affairs, Human Resources, Communication and Information.
The e-version of the guide is available on the Prime Ministry's website: www.pm.gov.jo.
