(MENAFN- Colombo Gazette) A stock of face shields which could be used in the programmes conducted by the Sri Lanka Navy for controlling the spread of coronavirus, was handed over to the Navy, today (30).
The Navy said a lot of material aids provided by various organizations are being received by the it for its campaigns carried out to control the spread of coronavirus in the country.
As such donation, a stock of face shields produced by Dr. Prasanna Gunawardena and Mr. Keshara Weerasinghe, a Computer Engineering undergraduate, under a project launched by the Engineering Faculty of Peradeniya University with the financial assistance provided by Professor Young-Ho Lee, Korea Maritime and Ocean University, Busan, Korea, was handed over to the Navy, today.
The Navy further said this stock of face shields was taken over by Chief of Staff of the Navy Rear Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenna and he expressed the Navy's gratitude to Dr. Prasanna Gunawardena, Mr. Keshara Weerasinghe and the representatives of Peradeniya University who were present on this occasion, for this important donation.
