2020 Book Fair canceled by pandemic may go virtual


(MENAFN- Newsroom Panama) The 2020 edition of the Panama International Book Fair (FIL) scheduled for August, is the latest event to  anceled because of uncertainties caused by the CORONA-19 pandemic

The fair is one of the major cultural events in  Panama and in 2019 attracted   106,00 visitors. It is the first cancellation since it premiered in 2001.

Orit Btesh, president of the organing group Capali. Said  that they are evaluating the feasibility of a 'virtual FIL to present  in October or November part of the agenda they had prepared, with conferences, talks, and presentations of new literary works

The Panama International Film Festival, the Canal shows, and the Performing Arts Festival are other massive cultural activities affected by the pandemic.
