Weekend humanitarian flights to Canada, the USA bring total past 15


(MENAFN- Newsroom Panama) Over 15  humanitarian flights carrying residents and stranded tourists to Canada, the USA,  Brazil, and other countries have departed from Tocumen International in the midst of the global pandemic that has closed More than 15  humanitarian flights in recent weeks amid the pandemic due to the new coronavirus, which forced the closure of most of the world's air terminals, including Tocumen.

Claudio Dutari, operations manager of Tocumen International  said: "The airport has served as a platform to support these humanitarian repatriation flights."

On Saturday, April 11 he  reported that this weekend flights are being made to the United States and Canada "with nationals of those countries who are being repatriated."

Meanwhile, the so-called humanitarian corridor has benefited 25 countries in the region, according to Foreign Minister Alejandro Ferrer during a visit to the headquarters of the Regional Logistics Center for Humanitarian Assistance in Panama Pacifico.

Copa, Wingo and Spirit   KLM/AirFrance and Lufthansa are among the providers of airlifts.
