The health ministry of Morocco said that 91 more patients have been diagnosed with coronavirus in the country on Wednesday, increasing the total number of patients infected with the disease in the country to 1,275.
The ministry added that the number of deaths due to the virus came in at 93 as the number of patients who have recovered from coronavirus stood at 97.
Casablanca region was the hardest struck by the epidemic with a total of 384 cases as Marrakech-Safi registered 211 cases, Rabat-Kenitra and Fes-Meknes reagions saw 209 and 172 cases respectively.
The country has imposed a rule on the population making wearing face masks compulsory for everyone leaving their house starting on Tuesday.
Anyone who breaks the law is going to sued and might face legal penalties ranging from a month to three months in prison and will be fined from USD30 to USD130.
