Earthquake strikes Mongolia

The Institute of Astronomy and Geophysics in Mongolia said that an earthquake with a magnitude of 3.9 has struck the western Khovd province of Mongolia on Monday.

The earthquake took place 78 km to the Altai soum southeast of the province at about 3 am of local time, according to a statement released by the institute, it added that no damage or casualties have resulted from the earthquake.

Khovd is one of the entire Mongolia 21 province that falls on the border with China to the west.
