4 Al-Shabab activists killed in Somalia

An official said on Sunday that the Somali National Army has succeeded in killing four of Al-Shabab activists and left many others wounded in an operation conducted on the highway between Bula Burte and Jalalaksi towns in the region of Hiiran in Somalia.

Army commander, Abdukadir Ali Nu, said that passengers who were inside three civilian trucks held by the insurgents have been rescued.

He said that "Our forces made successful operation in areas between Bula Burte and Jalalaksi towns on Saturday afternoon, we have killed four al-Shabab militants and injured several others, we also released three trucks with passengers safely from the hands of the terrorists".

Adding that the operation is aiming to make sure of the highway safety between the two cities in the country's center, and he said that the government is going to intensify its fighting against the militants.
