Jordan teachers join official online learning platform for educators

(MENAFN- Jordan Times) AMMAN — The Jordan government's official online learning platform at teachers.gov.jo, which was launched by the Ministry of Education, has over 43,200 teachers register on it, with 'a large percentage of them having successfully completed a number of courses'.

A statement by the ministry said: 'This reflects the extent of awareness by teachers of the importance of training to raise their competencies and abilities, as well as their recognition of the critical role that this platform plays in the success of the distance learning plan.'

The Minister of Education announced the launch of the training courses for teachers via distance learning at the start of the coronavirus curfew.

The ministry stressed the importance of this platform, which comes 'as part of its efforts to enhance the role of distance learning at this stage, proving that the Kingdom's educational system is based on the use of modern technology in the educational process'.

The feedback from teachers and educators showed 'ample praise of the ministry's initiative,' noted the statement, adding that teachers have said that this platform 'is motivating teachers to communicate with students, interact with them, and keep them informed about their lessons'.

The ministry called on teachers to benefit from this platform  and to 'ensure the success of this pioneering step taken by the Ministry of Education'.

The platform was launched in partnership with Mawdoo3 and the Idrak Foundation as a complement to the ministry's distance learning system, which now includes a programme that offers six courses, amounting to 90 training hours, offered free of charge.
