Baker Hughes, oilfield services company that is based in Houston of the United States, released data showing that the number of active drilling rigs in the United States saw a loss of 44 rigs to set at 728 in this week, representing a decline of 278 rigs compared to a year earlier.
The active rigs are consisted of 624 oil rigs working in the U.S. oil fields, a drop of 40 since a week earlier, 102 gas drilling rigs which declined 4 and two miscellaneous rigs that remained the same as the earlier week.
The tot 728 rigs are made up of 710 land drilling rigs that decreased 41 since a week earlier, 18 offshore drilling rigs that decreased one, there were zero inland waters drilling rigs for this current week, the only two rigs of the earlier week were lost.
653 of the total are horizontal drilling rigs whime 28 are vertical drilling rigs and 47 are directional drilling rigs.
