(MENAFN- Gulf Times) The State of Qatar, represented by the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority (QCAA), has secured the membership of the Committee on Aviation Environmental Protection (CAEP), a technical committee of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
In a statement, QCAA said that it had always been keen to protect the environment and mitigate the environmental impacts resulting from the activities of the civil aviation industry.
QCAA added that it is in a constant endeavor to cooperate with all international organizations in this field, and to coordinate with them so as to achieve the goals and strengthen the capabilities. QCAA is also working continuously to apply the criteria of the Sixteenth Supplement related to environmental protection, which made it among the leading countries in this field at the international level.
The CAEP assists the Council in formulating new policies and adopting new Standards and Recommended Practices (SARPs) related to aircraft noise and emissions, and more generally to aviation environmental impact.
