(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Doha: The Assistant Under-Secretary for Educational Affairs at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, Fawzia Al Khater (pictured), has said that school students will be given full marks in three subjects whose exams were not conducted due to suspension of classes.
To prevent the spread of COVID-19, the government suspended classes in public and private schools and universities for all students from March 10, 2020, until further notice. 'The students will not undergo supplementary exams for the remaining subjects when they return to school after the vacation of the middle of the second semester, said Fawzia Al Khater while talking to a Qatar TV programme.
She assured students that the Ministry is keen to safeguard their interest and all decision will be issued in their favour. 'If students could not return to school after vacation, we have developed many plans to face the challenges, said Al Khater. She said that the Ministry in cooperation with other ministries has made plans to face all possible challenges, in case of the suspension of classes the education process will continue with the help virtual education and home education. 'The Ministry is ready because necessary infrastructure is available. Since 2011, we have started electronic education which is operational in the schools and it was used by all students, teachers and parents in the previous so they are familiar, said Al Khater.
She stressed that it is important for the students to continue the educational process and obtain all the basic knowledge that will enable them to complete their next academic year easily.
