14.6% increase in Saudi date exports for year 2019


(MENAFN- Saudi Press Agency) Riyadh, March 12,2020, SPA -- The National Center for Palms and Dates has revealed the rise of exports of Saudi dates by 14.6% during the year 2019 compared to 2018 to reach about SR 865 million, in comparison to SR 755 million.
General Authority for Statistics showed an increase in export quantities by 13.5% for the year 2019 to reach 184,000 tons of dates, compared to 2018, amounting to 162,000 tons.
These achievements are fruits of the Ministry of Environment, Water, Agriculture, and the National Center for Palms and Date in addition to the efforts of relevant authorities.
It is worth noting that the Kingdom has more than 30 million palm trees that produce 1.4 million tons of the finest dates annually.
