Qatar- Kahramaa reduces electricity and water consumption fee for farms

(MENAFN- The Peninsula) The Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation (Kahramaa) announced that farms will see a reduction in electricity and water consumption fees starting with the February 2020 bill in order to support animal production.
The percentage of reduction in the new consumption fees for farms will reach 70 percent for electricity and 40 percent for water, given that these farms will no longer be classified in the commercial category.  Kahramaa said that this step comes within the framework of the national responsibility of Kahramaa as one of the leading institutions in the state in supporting animal production and encouraging owners of farms to invest in the field of livestock, in order to enhance self-sufficiency and food security in the State of Qatar, in cooperation with the Ministry of Municipality and Environment.
Kahramaa has completed a project to deliver electricity and water to farms in various regions of the country, to help enhance production capacity.
