46 percent rise in Tunisian phosphate produciton in 2019

The industry ministry of Tunisia said on Monday that the nationa output of phosephate in the country stood at 4.1 million tons in the earlier year 2019, representing a rise of 46 percent since a year earlier.

A statement by the ministry said that "During the period 2017-2019, the average annual production of phosphate was at the level of 3.6 million tonnes, registering a 20 percent growth from an average of 3 million tonnes for the period 2011-2016".

About 15,000 tonnes of phosphate were made on daily basis in the earlier five months, the statement added.

The yearly output of phosphate is going to go over 6 million tons with the rising trend, which could earn USD350 million in revenue and increase 1 percent to the economic growth rate.
