Kuwait MoI touts UAE efforts for Gulf drills


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) DUBAI, Feb 19 (KUNA) -- Kuwaiti Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Anas Al-Saleh on Wednesday commended the UAE endeavor to secure successful Gulf security exercises.
The Gulf drills, dubbed "Arab Gulf Security 2", are scheduled to kick off in the UAE on Thursday, targeting firmer coordination and cooperation among Gulf security forces.
Addressing the participating Kuwaiti forces, the minister thanked UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Saif bin Zayd Al-Nahyan for fervently seeking to make the joint drills a success.
He voiced utter confidence in the high and upgraded level of Kuwaiti security agencies, in addition to their capability of handling all circumstances and challenges.
Al-Saleh also spoke highly of their proper preparedness as unequivocal proof that Kuwaiti security forces enjoy efficiency and combat experience, and stand prepared for self-sacrifice to defend their own country and other Gulf nations.
However, the Kuwaiti minister underlined that given the ongoing regional circumstances, it is essential to be vigilant and on standby versus looming security threats.
He concluded by lauding the Gulf drills as reflecting Gulf coherence and unanimous over the shared goal and destiny, and contributing to upgrading the level of field coordination and cooperation amid unprecedented regional risks and challenges. (end)
