(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Doha: The Public Parks Management Department at the Ministry of Municipality and Environment has decided to allow the entire family members to visit Al Khor Family Park on Tuesday (today) and the next Tuesday on February 25.
However, the park has dedicated Tuesdays for women and children, said the Ministry in a statement yesterday. The decision was taken due to growing number of visitors, giving opportunities to large number of people who were eagerly waiting for the reopening of the park.
Al Khor Family Park received over 4,000 visitors including adults and children during first two days, after reopening. A total of 838 visitors enjoyed the ride of the battery-operated train running inside the park during the two days.
The entry fees to Al Khor Family Park is QR15 per person for adult and QR10 for the children up to 10 years. The train ride will charge QR5 per person. The park will open from Saturday to Thursday, from 10am to 11pm. On Friday, it will receive visitors from 2pm to 11pm.
The 240,000 square metre park features a zoo, a waterfall and a battery-operated train, a spacious restaurant, mosque, museum, mini-golf area, wall mural, skating area, children's play area, basketball court, food kiosks, drinking fountain, waterfall and an amphitheatre.
Al Khor Park has two play areas: one for older children and one for younger children. These play areas are completely covered with a rubber floor and cover an area of approximately 4,000 square metres. There is also an external area for sports and surfboarding.
Many animals have been added to the park and different types of birds that were not present in the Park before. The number of animals has now reached over 300 animals and birds.
