Chinese index of export container shipping posts rises in January

The Shanghai Shipping Exchange (SSE) said that the container transport for export purposes in China posted a rise in January.

The average China Containerized Freight Index (CCFI) saw a monthly increase of 10.3 percent set at a total of 927.91 in January, representing a rise from 823.53 average in 2019.

An increase was seen in the freight rates of all routes, boosting the container transport market in the earlier month.

The Persian Gulf/Red Sea and Mediterranean routes sub-indices increased the most with 31.4 percent and 30.6 percent rises respectively.
