Qatar's missions overseas organise Sport Day activities


(MENAFN- Gulf Times) The diplomatic, consular and representative missions of the State of Qatar abroad held sporting activities to mark the National Sport Day (NSD).
In Baku, Qatar's embassy in the Republic of Azerbaijan hosted a sporting event on the occasion, with the participation of Qatar's ambassador to Azerbaijan Faisal bin Abdullah al-Henzab and the diplomatic and administrative staff.
The programme included a football match and various exercises.
In Bamako, the Qatar embassy to the Republic of Mali held sporting events on the occasion, with the participation of the ambassador of Qatar to Mali Ahmed bin Abdulrahman al-Sunaidi, Mali's Minister of Youth and Sports Arouna Modibo Toure, and Mali's Minister of National Education, Higher Education, and Scientific Research Mahamoudou Famanta. The activities included a football match between the embassy staff and the Qatar-Mali Friendship Society with the participation of a number of orphans.
In a speech on the occasion, the ambassador said allocation of an annual sports day in Qatar is an unprecedented initiative.
For his part, the Malian Minister of Sports praised the development and growth of bilateral relations between Qatar and Mali.
In Pretoria, the embassy of Qatar to the Republic of South Africa organised sports events on the occasion, with the participation of the ambassador of Qatar to South Africa Tariq Ali al-Ansari, a number of ambassadors, diplomats, representatives of civil society, media personalities, and athletes. The embassy organised a large number of activities that included football.
In Tirana, the embassy of Qatar to the Republic of Albania organised sporting events on the occasion, with the participation of ambassador of Qatar to Albania Ali bin Hamad al-Marri, a number of Albanian officials, and representatives of Arab and foreign diplomatic missions accredited to Albania. The activities included football and basketball games.
In Dar es Salaam, the Qatar embassy to the United Republic of Tanzania organised events on the occasion, with the participation of the ambassador of Qatar to Tanzania Hussain bin Ahmed al-Hamid. The activities included a football match between the embassy staff and Qatar Airways. There was also a running event among other sports activities. The ambassador in his comments said the occasion reflects the state's commitment to promoting sports and the important role it plays in realising Qatar National Vision 2030.
In Bucharest, the embassy of Qatar to Romania organised sporting events on the occasion, with the participation of the ambassador of Qatar to Romania Abdullah bin Nasser al-Hamidi, as well as the diplomatic and embassy staff. The programme included a number of activities such as walking among others.
In Bandar Seri Begawan, the Qatar embassy in Brunei organised sporting events on the occasion, with the participation of the ambassador of Qatar to Brunei Jassim bin Ali al-Obaidli and members of the embassy. The events included activities like running, walking and cycling. In Caracas, the Qatar embassy to the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela held sporting events on the occasion, which included various activities including football.
In N'Djamena, the Qatar embassy to the Republic of Chad organised events on the occasion, with the participation of embassy staff, and it had various sports activities.
In Brasilia, the Qatar embassy to the Republic of Brazil organised various sports events on the occasion, with the participation of members of the embassy and employees.
In Santo Domingo, the Qatar embassy to the Dominican Republic organised sporting events on the occasion, with the participation of embassy staff. The programme included cycling.
In Karachi, the General Consulate of Qatar to Karachi organised sporting events on the occasion, with the participation of the Consul General Mishaal bin Mohamed al-Ansari, diplomats, administrative staff and consulate staff. The programme included football matches.
