Algeria records 45-percent increase of GDP's public debt


(MENAFN)Based on international news released this Tuesday, the figures of the end of 2019 showed that Algeria's Gross Domestic Product (GDP)'s public liability amounted to 45 per cent.

Algeria's public debt reached at 26 percent of GDP before two years, Prime Minister Abdelaziz Djerad said, indicating the "delicate" situation of the country's economy.

Algeria is struggling with its finances as oil and gas revenues have dropped in recent years as a result of market instability and feeble prices. The government plans to look for substitute funding sources including a local stock exchange.
