Active drilling rigs in U.S. stays stable

Data published by Baker Hughes, a Houston-based oilfield services company in the United States, showed that the U.S. number of active drillings rigs has remained stable at 790 in this week, representing a decline of 259 rigs since a year earlier.

The active drilling rigs consisted of 676 oil rigs working in the U.S. oil fields, which increase one since a week earlier, 111 gas drilling rigs which dropped one since a week ago and three miscellaneous rigs remaining the same.

The 790 rigs were made up of 767 land drilling rigs which dropped one since a week earlier, 23 offshore drilling rigs rising two, and one inland waters drilling rig that was lost in the week.

Out of those rigs, 711 are horizontal drilling rigs, 46 are directional drilling rigs, and 33 are vertical drilling rigs.
