Qatar- Sheikh Joaan crowns winners of HH the Father Amir Camel Racing Festival


(MENAFN- Gulf Times) HE the President of the Qatar Olympic Committee Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad al-Thani crowned the winners of the camel-racing festival for the sword of HH the Father Amir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani, which concluded on Thursday at Al Shahaniya camel racetrack, amid wide participation from GCC countries.

HE Sheikh Joaan honoured the winners in the four main events for camels owned by the sheikhs. The camel 'Shama' owned by HE Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Hamad bin Khalid al-Thani won the title of the Golden Sword, while the camel 'Al Rasiyah' owned by Al Shehania camels was awarded golden shalfa.

HE Sheikh Saud bin Fahd bin Abdulaziz bin Khalid Al-Thani, the owner of the camel 'Baroud' and Al Shahaniya camels, the owner of the camel 'Maarik', received the golden daggers.

HE Sheikh Joaan awarded the winners of the final four main rounds. He presented the silver sword to Abdullah bin Saeed al-Eidah, the owner of Al Sailiya camels.

HE Sheikh Joaan awarded the silver shalfa to Mohamed Ali bin Jaznah, the owner of the camel 'Omaniyat', while the silver daggers were given to Ali bin Hamad bin Maqareh, the owner of the camel 'Habash', and Salem Amer al-Madhoshi, the owner of the camel 'Monsef'.
