Official data that was published on Saturday showed that Mongolia made a total of USD607.2 million from tourism in the earlier year 2019, a rose of 10.2 percent since a year before.
The Environment and Tourism Ministry of Mongolia said that the country welcomed about 577,300 foreign tourists in the year, a rise of 9.1 percent in comparison to 2018.
The ministry said that the Chinese tourists made up over one third of the total foreign visitors to the country in the year.
The country has been increasing efforts to improve its economy by advancing the tourism industry as the Mongolian economy heavily depends on export earnings from the mining sector.
