Acting energy minister appointed in Turkmenistan

The temporary fulfillment of the duties of Turkmenistan's Energy Minister is entrusted to the country's Deputy Prime Minister Charymyrat Purchekov, Trend reports with reference to the relevant decree signed by the Turkmen president.

The former head of the ministry has been appointed the head of the Department of International Electricity Projects.

The total volume of electricity produced in Turkmenistan by 2024 is planned to be increased to 33 billion kilowatt hours, which is almost 30 percent more than in 2018.







Turkmenistan sells electricity to Afghanistan, Iran. Ashgabat is also exploring the prospects for deliveries to the markets of the Caucasus, Central and South Asia.
