By Leman Zeynalova - Trend:

Warm, friendly relations with Azerbaijan are welcomed by everyone in Israel, Israeli Ambassador to Azerbaijan George Deek said at a press conference in Baku, Trend reports.

Having noted that parliamentary elections will be held in Israel on March 2, 2020, the ambassador expressed his confidence that regardless of the results, the Israeli-Azerbaijani bilateral relations will continue to flourish, because they are strategic in nature.

Azerbaijan is a truly friendly country to Israel, the ambassador stressed.

"I presented my credentials to President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on Dec. 25, 2019. That date was special for me for several reasons. On that day, I began to fulfill my obligations as an ambassador to a country friendly to Israel. December 25, 2019, also marked exactly 28 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries," George Deek said.

"Azerbaijan is a country where representatives of different nations and religions live in peace and security. At the heart of this state is tolerance and mutual respect. In an unstable region, Azerbaijan and Israel are the stronghold of peace, stability and security."
