Libya has voluntarily deported 129 illegal immigrants back to Sudan on Wednesday, according to the UN-affiliated International Organization for Migration (IOM).

The IOM said that "The UN migration agency has facilitated the safe return of 129 Sudanese nationals from Libya," IOM tweeted.

Adding that "Supported by the EU-IOM joint initiative, they will receive reintegration assistance to help rebuild their lives".

The IOM has launched a voluntary return program planning to arrange the return of illegal immigrants that are locked in Libya to their home countries.

The IOM said in the earlier week that about 10,000 illegal immigrants have voluntarily returned from Libya to their countries in 2019.
