Doha: MS Dhoni Cricket Academy, in partnership with Absolute Sports, has opened a branch in Doha on January 17, 2020, at an event held at Asian Town. Ambassador of India to Qatar P Kumaran did the inauguration.
Ambassador spoke in his inaugural speech about the importance of professional coaching, identifying talents and giving proper guidance. He praised MS Dhoni as an 'extraordinary and charming personality and shared his expectation that MSDCA will bring quality cricket coaching to Qatar. The Ambassador also promised all his support in developing sports in Qatar through the Indian Sports Center (ISC), an apex body under the aegis of the Indian Embassy.
In addition to the Ambassador, the inaugural ceremony at the cricket nets near the West End Stadium was attended by Guest of Honour Capt Kapil Kaushik, Defense Attaché Embassy of India to Qatar, PN Baburajan, President, Indian Community Benevolent Forum, EP Abdul Rahman, Vice President, Indian Sports Centre, and Safeerurahman, Secretary, Indian Sports Center.
Kumaran and Capt. Kaushik were presented with MSDCA jersey, bat and ball signed by MS Dhoni. The two dignitaries also took turns to bowl and bat.
Sohail Rauf, Head of Operations at MS Dhoni Cricket Academy, spoke about the vision of the academy; 'Cricket For All where it aims to set a benchmark for creating equal opportunities for everyone and provide them with top-notch cricket coaching for aspiring cricketers.
Chief Coach Mandar Dalvi explained MS Dhoni Cricket Academy's modern coaching strategy and spoke of the exhaustive process of selection of coaches and their training and development for ensuring structured coaching is imparted in all MS Dhoni Cricket Academy centers.
Gautham Vivek and Dev Ganesh Mihiraj were awarded with MS Dhoni signed bats for their best performance for the day.
