(MENAFN- The Peninsula) The Speaker of the Shura Council, H E Ahmed bin Abdullah bin Zaid Al Mahmoud, met yesterday with a delegation from the Libyan House of Representatives chaired by
H E Saad Mohammed Saleh Al Jazwe.
The meeting discussed the latest developments in Libya, and means of developing the parliamentary cooperation between the two countries.
H E the Speaker of the Shura Council underlined that the State of Qatar's support for the internationally-recognised Government of National Accord of Libya, and affirmed Qatar's commitment to everything that would fulfil the aspirations of the brotherly Libyan people in security and stability and achieving national reconciliation among all its components, as well as its keenness on the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Libya. The Libyan parliamentary delegation expressed thanks and appreciation for Qatar's firm position in support of Libya's legitimacy, and its constructive efforts to restore harmony and stability to Libya, preserve its interests and achieve the aspirations of its people.
The meeting was attended by the Chairman of Qatar-Arab Parliamentary Friendship Group, H E Saqr bin Fahad Al Muraikhi, and a number of officials in the Council.
