Kuwait provides significant aid to Vietnam - envoy

HANOI, Jan 18 (KUNA) -- Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) plays a crucial role at the level of aiding nations namely Vietnam with development projects, the Gulf country's envoy here said on Saturday.
Dr. Adnan Al-Ahmad, in a statement to KUNA, affirmed Kuwait's role via the fund for boosting development in Vietnam, also noting that the fund loans for the Asian nation reached 15, valued at KD 54 million (USD 177 million).
He was speaking during a visit, organized by KFAED, by a group of outstanding Kuwaiti students.
The 2016 visit to Vietnam by the former prime minister His Highness Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah cemented ties and economic cooperation between the two countries.
The Kuwaiti aid has targeted remote regions in Vietnam and helped local populations cope with poverty. (end) skm.rk
