Italy sees drop in November exports

(MENAFN)

ISTAT national statistics agency in Italy said on Friday that the exports of Italy posted a decline of 4.2 percent in November of the earlier year 2019 in comparison with the earlier month and 3.2 percent in comparison with the same month of the earlier year.

The export since the earlier year to markets not in the EU dropped 3.7 percent and 2.7 percent for the EU market.

The drop in exports was attributed to a decline in sectors such as transportation vehicles without cars which dropped 23.7 percent, computers and electronic and optical equipment which declined 11.5 percent, machinery and equipment dropping 5.5 percent and metals with a drop of 5.1 percent.

The industries that bucked the declining annual trend were pharmaceuticals which rose 22.4 percent, leather goods without clothing adding 5.9 percent and clothing which rose 3 percent.
