Jordan's tourism income up 10%

Amman – Jordan's tourism income reached USD 5.8 billion, up 10.2 % year on year, according to figures from the Central Bank of the country published on Jordanian news agency Petra .

The Central Bank attributed the performance to an increase in the number of overnight tourists by 8.9%, to 5.66 million tourists. Many visitors travel to the country for same-day tours, mainly to Petra historic site.

Last December, the revenues from tourism reached USD 437 million, up 14% from a year before. The total number of tourists increased by 16.9% year on year.

Total number of Brazilian tourists to Jordan increased by 50% in 2019 year on year.
