Amid the process of developing sport's sector in Nigeria, an appeal for early discovery and grooming of gymnasts issued on Wednesday by Sunday Dare, the country's Minister of Youth and Sports Development.
The call was made by the minister after gymnasts of TIG Gymnastic Club were received in his office in Nigeria's capital, Abuja.
In order to be qualified to represent Nigeria at major international competitions, the young gymnasts aging between 3 and 12 were encouraged to take the advantage of starting early, according to the Minister.
He expressed that "Beyond what it will do for them in terms of their development, both mental and physical, these ones are the future of this country because they will represent Nigeria not just at this level but up to the Olympic level".
