(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) CAIRO, Jan 15 (KUNA) -- The Arab Parliament condemned Wednesday Turkish parliament's decision regarding sending troops to Libya.
Turkey's decision to send troops was a flagrant violation of international law and Security Council resolutions, the Parliament said in a statement
issued at the end of its second session.
"Turkish military intervention in Libya complicates the situation and fuels division and disagreement among the Libyan parties."
The decision contributes to prolonging the conflict, undermining peace efforts, obstructing the political solution in Libya, destabilizing the region and threatening the security of the neighboring countries and Arab national security, the statement added.
The parliament affirmed its full support for Libya, its sovereignty, independence, unity and safety of its citizens, and rejected all forms of foreign interference in the Libyan affairs.
The parliament called on all Libyan parties to assume national responsibility and give priority to the interest of Libya and its brotherly people above any consideration through a comprehensive political dialogue among all people and to reject foreign interference in its internal affairs.
It also called the international community and the International Security Council to take urgent steps to prevent facilitating transfer of foreign troops to Libya and to form a clear mechanism for monitoring and sanctioning parties that finance armed conflict. (end)
