Arrangements for this Friday's Qatar Cup final between country's football giants Al Duhail and Al Sadd are on track with tickets for the highly-anticipated clash selling fast, organisers said yesterday.

In what will be a rematch of the 2018 final, defending champions Al Duhail will be eyeing a repeat show of what they did  two years ago - a 2-1 victory over Al Sadd in the final to clinch the trophy.

Rui Faria-coached Al Duhail blanked Al Sailiya 2-0 while Xavi's Al Sadd rallied from a goal down to thrash Al Rayyan 4-1 to book their spot in the final.

Organisers at a press conference yesterday informed media about the arrangements for the clash at Al Sadd Stadium, which will kick off at 5.30pm.

The press conference was attended by Hassan Rabiah Al Kuwari, Executive Director of Marketing, Sales and Communication at QSL; Ahmed Al Sayed, Head of Football Operations at QSL, and Lieutenant Jaber Salem

Al Athba representing the Stadium Security Department of the Ministry of Interior

'We congratulate Al Duhail and Al Sadd clubs on reaching the final of sixth edition of the Qatar Cup, the Cup of Pride and Glory, to which the QSL attaches great importance, Al Kuwari said yesterday.

He said almost 60 percent of the final match tickets have been sold, adding that the gates would be opened two hours prior to the kick-off.

Al Kuwari said tickets for the match were launched last Sunday at the outlets of clubs that were announced previously (Al Sadd, Al Duhail and Qatar SC) in addition to Doha Festival City, and fans can buy tickets online through official website (tickets.qsl.qa),

'Valuable prizes will be up for grabs for the fans, including two cars, he said.

Meanwhile, Lieutenant Al Athba urged the fans to arrive at the stadiums two hours prior to the kick off, advising them to check the list of prohibited items before entering the stadium.

The final was initially scheduled to start at 7:30pm before the kick off was confirmed for 5:30pm, and Al Sayed said the new time is suitable for ‘everyone' - players and fans.

'We are hoping for an exciting final as both the teams have star players who will put up a good show, he said.

He added that a technical meeting with the two teams would be held tomorrow to finalise the arrangements.

Meanwhile, Al Duhail and Al Sadd are continuing their training sessions ahead of the final. Al Sadd resumed their training yesterday while Al Duhail are having daily sessions which will continue till the final.
