(MENAFN- Arab Times) 80 pct firms don't fulfill their contracts
KUWAIT CITY, Jan 13: More than 80 percent of the insurance companies do not fulfil their contracts with individuals and companies, and procrastinate in paying repair costs, reports Al-Shahed daily quoting reliable sources.
They revealed that Ministry of Commerce and Industry receives many complaints about the way the insurance companies handle situations especially in the automobile sector. The sources stressed the need for a supervisory authority to organize the market, in light of the mess that prevails in the insurance sector of Kuwait.
They highlighted the lack of an independent authority that is specialized in the supervision of the insurance sector. Meanwhile, cases related to information- technology crimes have increased from 155 annually to nearly 4,000, which is an increase of 166 percent, following the implementation of anti-information technology crimes law, reports Al-Seyassah daily.
The study was prepared by the Assistant Professor of Criminal Law in Saad Al-Abdullah Academy for Security Sciences Dr Moaz Al-Mulla. The study revealed that the total number of cases related to information-technology crimes was 2,671 prior to the issuance of the law including 1,212 in 2014 and 1,459 in 2015, adding that this number rose to 3,942 after the law was issued.
