International dairy prices post rises

Prices of Diary have posted a rise of 2.8 percent at the first international Dairy Trade (GDT) auction held in January of the current year 2020.

The price index of the GDT posted a rise of 2.8 percent since the previous auction which was held in the earlier year of 2019. The average price has set at USD3,371 U per ton and the total trading volume hit 33,050 tons.

The whole milk powder has posted an increase of 1.7 percent to set at USD3,150 per ton at the most recent GDT auction.

Rennet casein saw a rise of 8.6 percent to USD8,973 per ton, butter milk powder posted an increase of 7.4 percent to USD3,040 per ton, and while skim milk powder posted a rise of 5.4 percent to USD3,026 per ton.
