Amman, Jan. 6 (Petra) - Speaker of the Lower House of Parliament, Atef Tarawneh held Monday two separate meetings with South Korea's Ambassador to Jordan Lee Jae-wan and Canada's Ambassador to Jordan Donica Pottie.
Tarawneh discussed prospects of joint parliamentary cooperation, and ways to enhance economic cooperation and trade exchange.
He pointed to Jordan's ability to attract Korean and Canadian investments and prepare an investment environment.
Also, regional and international issues were addressed and Jordan's vision towards them, especially situations in Palestine, Syria, and Iraq.
During the meeting with the South Korean ambassador, Tarawneh affirmed Jordan's steadfast stance led by His Majesty King Abdullah II to support the Palestinian brothers and defend Jerusalem, stressing the importance of supporting the two-state solution as a way out for regional crises and as a gateway to achieving the desired peace.
Tarawneh underlined Jordan's keenness to benefit from the Korean economic experience, the importance of enhancing trade and economic cooperation, and working to expand the horizons of cultural and educational cooperation.
For his part, the Korean ambassador emphasized his country's keenness to develop relations with Jordan, and his country's readiness to present its expertise in order to benefit from it in cooperation with relevant government entities.
During the meeting, two experts from the South Korean Institute for Middle East Studies presented a translated version of the Jordanian constitution in the South Korean language, confirming the Institute's interest in enhancing cultural cooperation with Jordan and the Arab region, where they previously translated 13 constitutions in the region.
