Jordan- GDP up by 1.9% in third quarter of 2019


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, Jan. 5 (Petra) -- Jordan's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) posted a 1.9 percent growth during the third quarter of 2019 compared to the same period of 2018, according to a report released by the Department of Statistics (DoS).
At the level of production sectors, the extractive industries have scored the highest growth rate at 7.4 percent, while the social and personal services sector scored a growth rate of 3.4 percent, followed by the finance, insurance and real estate sector by 3 percent, and the transport, storage and communications sector by 2.7 percent.
