(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, Dec 12 (KUNA) -- Al-Qadsia SC were crowned champions of Kuwait Super Cup on Thursday for the 6th time after beating Kuwait SC 1-0.
The game, organized by Kuwait Football Association at Jaber International Stadium, pitted Kuwait SC - the Premier League champions, against Al-Qadsia - His Highness the Amir Cup champions.
The two teams missed a few chances during the first half of the game that ended with a goalless draw.
Al-Qadsia SC netted the sole goal in the 70th minute.
During the second half, Kuwait tried to equalize, but failed to enhance their position.
Al-Qadsia won the title 6th times in their history including twice in a row. Kuwait SC obtained the trophy four times and Al-Arabi twice.
The first edition of the Super Cup competition began in 2008. (end)
