Qatar- Al Shaqab horses to participate in Salon Du Cheval De Paris 2019

The Arabians at Al Shaqab, member of Qatar Foundation, are preparing to compete in the World Arabian Championship the prestigious Salon Du Cheval De Paris 2019. The event, which starts today in France comprises competitions in various categories, including the coveted title of ‘World Champion'.

Participation will be limited to horses that have won notable awards at international horse shows in 2019. The event will conclude on December 1.

This year, Al Shaqab will be represented by Fahad Al Shaqab and Zuhayr Al Shaqab (yearling colt category) and Kashef Al Shaqab (junior colt category: 2 and 3-year-old colts).

Additionally, Hariry Al Shaqab, a former world champion, will compete in the platinum category. This magnificent stallion has sired several horses that participate in Arabian horse shows around the world.

Sheikh Hamad bin Ali Al Thani, Manager of the Breeding & Show Department at Al Shaqab, said: 'Al Shaqab's participation in Salon Du Cheval De Paris 2019 will mark our final international event for this year. We have high expectations that our horses will lead the list of winners, reinforcing Al Shaqab's leadership and its ability to remain atop the world's leading breeder for the most beautiful purebred Arabian horses.

'Over the years, Al Shaqab has competed in several international Arabian Horse championships and has repeatedly achieved success, he said.

Al Shaqab has emerged triumphant in previous editions of the World Arabian Championship held in France, with Kaheel Al Shaqab crowned world champion in 2014.

Sheikh Hamad added: 'Al Shaqab is no stranger to top titles, having bred 3 generations of world champions since its inception in 1992.

This year, too, we look forward to the best results, especially as all our participating horses have been bred and raised at Al Shaqab. Our well-established and proven breeding program reflects our ability to present some of the finest and most resplendent horses at horse shows.

The upcoming championship will be another opportunity to compete along with some of the top owners and breeders from around the world.
