Kuwait's team ready for advanced positions in 24nd Gulf cup - official


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) DOHA, Nov 24 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's national soccer team are prepared for achieving advanced positions in the 24nd Arabian Gulf Cup, Ahmad Ajab, head of teams at Kuwait Football Association (KFA), said on Sunday.
Ajab made the statement to KUNA after the Kuwaiti team had arrived in Doha to partake in the tournament, which will kick off on November 26 (Tuesday) and runs until December 8.
He added that the cup is highly catching the attention of the Gulf fans and media, expecting that some players would made brilliant performances in this event.
He congratulated the organizing committee on the success it made as the number of the participating teams reached eight instead of five, which is a sign of unifying nations.
Kuwait's first game will be held against Saudi Arabia on Wednesday in Group B that also includes Bahrain and Oman. Group A features Qatar, the UAE, Yemen and Iraq.
The Kuwaiti team includes 28 players, in addition to technical and administrative staff. (end)
