(MENAFN- Tribal News Network) PESHAWAR: Presidential award-winning Pashto poet from Bannu, Ghazi Sial is in precarious health condition but so far no government or other cultural organization have helped him in this difficult hour.
The 75-year-old poet has written 16 books and 50 classical films. According to him, he has spent millions on his treatment but no government representative came to inquire about his health, nor did any of cultural institutions have provided him with any assistance.
He also expressed his displeasure at the government's lack of apathy towards the literary figures who have dedicated their lives to the services of Pashto culture and literature. According to sources, the director of the Culture Department, Shama Niamat, paid visit but did not provide any assistance but only assured him that he will talk to high officials to arrange financial assistance for him.
Haji Baz Mohammad Khan Advocate from Bannu, Advocate of Haji Nawab Khan, Haji Abdul Matin Khan, Head of UNESC Malik Shakeel Khan, Malik Adnan Khan, Haji Gul Baz Khan, Former MPA Azam Khan Durrani, President Press Club Mohammad Alam Khan, Haji Farid Khan, engineer Malik Ehsan, Malik Yusuf Khan and others have appealed to the government for the treatment of legendary poet, Ghazi Siyal.
'Poetry has key role in inspiring social change' PESHAWAR: Grand poetry session was organized by District Administration and Sports Department in Mullagori tehsil of the district where the chief guest was Deputy Commissioner Khyber, Mehmood Aslam Wazir.
The poetry session was held in the Hujra of Social Worker Kafayatullah alias Khan of Malaguri. On this occasion district Sports Manager Raheed Gul Mulagori, Political Tehsildar Aamir Shahzad, PTI Khyber Leader Sher Mat Khan Afridi, Malik Abdul Manan Mullgori, Malik and Mullagori, Haji Mushtaq Ahmed, as well as local poets and people from different schools of thought participated in large numbers.
In his address to local poets, Deputy Commissioner Mahmood Aslam Wazir said that poetry has a key role in the society which reforms the society. District Khyber has produced very prominent Pashto poets who have served the Pashto culture and traditions for generations. On this occasion the Deputy Commissioner announced to give Rs 10,000 in cash to the organizers while conducting international level poetry in Khyber district.
