UAE- Arab imam, wife die in Sharjah road crash


(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) An Arab imam of a mosque and his wife died while their daughter was seriously injured in a horrific car collision that took place on Sharjah-Malaiha Road in Al Seyouh area in Sharjah on Friday, November 22, evening.

The driver of the other vehicle involved in the accident received moderate injuries and is currently recuperating in Al Qassimi hospital.

The accident occurred "due to lack of attention" which caused instant death of the 58-year-old imam and his 50-year-old wife after they sustained critical injuries and internal bleeding in the brain, the police said. Their 25-year-old daughter is fighting for her life in the intensive care unit of a hospital, they added.

Police said that they received a call at 9.32pm on Friday informing them about the crash. The operations room dispatched a team comprising traffic, patrols and rescue officers from Al Seyouh police station. They rushed to the accident site in only five minutes.

Police urged drivers to pay attention on the road and avoid being distracted while driving.
