(MENAFN- Gulf Times) The first edition of the International Perfumes and Cosmetics Exhibition, organised by Kuwait International Fair Company (KIFC), kicked off on Thursday at Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre (DECC), offering a wide range of perfumes and cosmetics from various brands.
The opening ceremony was attended by Qatar Chamber board member and Qatari Businesswomen Forum president Ibtihaj al-Ahmadani and KIFC's Marketing and Sales executive director Basima Youssef al-Dheim.
Al-Ahmadani said the expo, which runs until November 26, provides a good opportunity for Qatari entrepreneurs to meet their Kuwaiti counterparts and discuss ways to forge partnerships in the perfume and cosmetic industry.
She noted that the private sectors in Qatar and Kuwait are continuously collaborating to look for investment opportunities as she vouched for the support of Qatar Chamber for such exhibitions.
Such efforts, al-Ahmadani added, are aimed at enhancing trade ties between the two countries.
The exhibition sees the participation of some 57 Kuwaiti companies specialised in the field, QNA added.
This exhibition in Qatar, according to organisers, is the largest dedicated fair in Doha to sell, market and promote perfumes, incense and cosmetics.
An array of exhibition offers and competitive prices attracted many visitors on the first day of the event, keen to buy the latest and most luxurious scents.
'We are glad today to launch the International Perfumes and Cosmetics Exhibition in Qatar, with companies representing exclusive perfume brands, along with local, regional premium and luxury brands and dealers, showcasing their collections of perfumes, incense and cosmetics, al-Dheim said in a press statement.
'We thank the Qatari authorities and DECC management for their efforts and we also thank all Qatari and Kuwaiti companies for their participation and reconfirm our commitment to present a well-organised fair that meets the expectations of visitors and exhibitors alike, she added.
KIFC is dubbed as the first and largest exhibition organiser of exhibitions in Kuwait and has worked in collaboration with Attex International Event Management to manage the expo in Qatar.
