Crude oil imports in China rise

Crude oil imports in China saw rising growth in October as the production stayed stable.

The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) said that being one of the biggest oil buyers in the world, China imported 45.51 million tons of crude oil in the previous month, rising 17.1 percent since the previous year, 6.3 percent more than the rise in September.

Chinese crude oil output stood at 16.11 million tons in the previous month, almost flat with the same period of the previous year, crude oil production stood at a total of 159.25 million tons in the first 10 months, rising 1.1 percent since the previous year.

China has a goal to raise its yearly domestic crude oil output to over 200 million tons by 2020.
