Kuwait- AGCFF announces participation of Saudi Arabia, UAE, Bahrain in (Khaleji 24) in Qatar


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) DOHA, Nov 13 (KUNA) -- The Arab Gulf Cup Football Federation (AGCFF) announced on Wednesday the official participation of Saudi Arabia, UAE, and Bahrain in the 24th edition of the Arabian Gulf Cup (Khaleji 24) n Doha, slated to be held between November 26 and December 8.
AGCFF postponed the (Khaleji 24) kick-off to November 26 in order to give the Saudi national team time to bring back its away players, currently with Al-Hilal FC to play an international match against a Japanese team, to join up with their national team, the Federation's Deputy Chairman Jasem Al-Tashkeeli said in a press conference.
AGCFF also decided to hold a new draw for (Khaleji 24) on Thursday after receiving applications of Saudi, Emirati, and Bahraini football associations to join up with Kuwaiti, Iraqi, Yemeni, Omani, and Qatari national teams, added Al-Tashkeeli.
He also indicated the previous tournament-type system of one round competition has been changed to the two groups system after receiving the three nations' participation request. (end)
