Pink Hub’ Raises Breast Cancer Awareness for more than 400 Women


(MENAFN- Editorial) The Sharjah Ladies Club (SLC) has successfully concluded its three-day breast cancer awareness and wellness event ‘Pink Hub’, engagingmore than 400 women from across the UAE. From October 10-12, SLC was bustling with energetic discussions with Pink Caravan’s medical experts who spoke about symptoms, lifestyle risks, and the importance of early detection.

Hosted under the theme, ‘Hopeful Hearts, Complete Wellness’, and in collaboration with the UAE-based Friend Of Cancer Patients (FOCP)’s breast cancer awareness initiative – Pink Caravan – the event was held to boost global efforts being put in to protect women’s health during the International Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Theevent organised a range of fitness activities includingpaddle boarding competitions, boot camp and body balance classes, metcon workouts, and outdoorbike race workouts led by SLC’s trainer at Fitness 180° centre.Through these activities, SLC emphasised to all participating women to maintain regular workouts along with ahealthylifestyle practice.

The Al Qasimi hospital conducted an awareness workshop, and informative nutrition talk was offered by Dr. Nada Al Mulla who is a family medicine specialist at the Dubai Health Authority (DHA); SLC’s Orchid Beauty Boutique organised a haircare talk; their Dalouk Spa gave away essential beauty and wellness tips at a teen facial and acne workshop.

The Pink Caravan Medical Mobile Clinic was on site on the event’s first day, and delivered free breast screenings, consultations and physical examinations to women.

Fun and exciting activities for children continued on the side with an outdoor cinema,a bubble show, , a magic show, live music every day,children’s pink Zumba and live cooking stations served up a variety of healthy dishesto encourage them on a healthy lifestyle and a raffle draw for valuable prizes.

Khawla Al Serkal, Director General, Sharjah Ladies Club, said: “The motto of this event was to foster awareness in women to reduce the risk of developing breast cancer, and equips them with the knowledge and tools they need to protect their health and long-term wellbeing. SLC is proud to have achieved this goal by engaging more than400 women across nationalities and age groups.
