US senior State Dept. official travels to UAE, Saudi Arabia


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) WASHINGTON, Oct 12 (KUNA) -- US Undersecretary of State for Political Affairs David Hale will travel to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Saudi Arabia this week where he will discuss bilateral and regional issues, including "the conflict in Yemen."
The Department of State said in a statement that during his trip from October 12-18, Hale will meet with senior government officials from both countries, as well as with the President of Yemen, Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi.
It added that Hale "will emphasize the United States' continued support for the United Nations-led political process and underscore that a political solution is the only path to a peaceful, prosperous, stable, and unified Yemen."
He will also discuss "ways to counter the Iranian regime's continued destabilizing activities". (end)
