189 refugees sent from Libya to Rwanda on Friday, according to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).
UNHCR said that "189 refugees and asylum seekers evacuated from Libya are now safe in the Gashora Transit Center while solution sought".
Libya has become a preferred departure point for illegal immigrants wanting to cross the Mediterranean Sea into Europe as a result of insecurity and chaos in the North African country after the 2011 uprising.
Shelters in Libya are crowded with thousands of migrants rescued at sea or apprehended by the Libyan security services.
