Tokyo shares have declined on Wednesday as concerns over upcoming trade talks rose and clouded the outlook of the international economy.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average lost 0.96 percent from Tuesday to 21,381.42 points.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo shares Exchange declined 0.80 percent to set at 1,573.82 points.
Mining, precision instrument and marine transportation-linked issues were those that declined the most.
